Old Garden Roses & David Austins
OGR's are the oldest of the rose varieties, including the great roses from the 1700's, 1800's and even older. The oldest of these (found or created before 1865) are called Dowagers. Victorians came along in the late 1800's through the 1920's. The David Austin roses are modern shrubs, created from OGR's; and they look like roses from olden times.
